I would like to intruduce myself to you with these inspiring quote that has guided me over the past five years. As I talk about family and care, I cannot ignore the devastating reality of genocide and ecocide, which continues to cause so much suffering and destructions.

In each gesture lies my relationship with the world, my way of seeing and feeling it, my heritage, my education, my environment, my psychological structure. In the violence or gentleness of my gesture, in its confident or hesitant tone, there is all my biography, the quality of my connection with the world, my way of offering myself. Passing through existence and flesh, gestures create the unity we call ‘body,’ for it is not the body that possesses gestures, but the gestures that bring a body to life from the stillness of flesh.
(U. Galimberti, Il Corpo)

As I move through the world, I need my gestures to shape the future I want to inhabit. I need them to reshape the present tense and create space for us to breath faith.

I ask you to think of your gestures not just as a reflection of your history or as an expression of your present, but also as the foundation of the collective future that we can build together.
